OPTICAL DISK DEVICE AND TILT ADJUSTMENT CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of warping of a disk due to an increase in temperature and to prevent deterioration of recording and reproducing performance due to the warping of a disk.

SOLUTION: An actuator 14 in an optical pickup 3 adjusts a tilt angle (tilt amount) of an object lens 13 with respect to an optical disk 1. A controller 5 monitors a temperature change in the vicinity of the optical disk 1 by a thermometer 8 and makes tilt adjustment again if a temperature change amount with respect to the temperature when tilt adjustment was made previously exceeds a specified value. Further, the controller 5 makes recording and reproducing operations by lowering the rotational speed of a spindle motor 2 if the tilt amount after tilt adjustment exceeds an acceptable range.
