<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable whose outer diameter can be reduced without using a rib structure around a tension member. <P>SOLUTION: An optical cable is formed such that multiple optical fiber ribbons 13 are stored in a spacer 12 that is molded with resin coaxially about a tension member 11 and the outer periphery of the spacer 12 is covered by an outer cover 17. The spacer 12 is divided into multiple closed storage passages 16 for storing the optical fiber ribbons 13 by an annular outer peripheral wall 15 and multiple partition walls 14 in a radial direction, and the storage passages are formed to have a spiral shape. Furthermore, the spacer 12 is made of a high-density polyethylene resin, thicknesses of the outer peripheral wall 15 and the partition walls 14 are 0.5 mm or more, and a pitch P of the spiral shape is N×100 (mm) or less when the number of the partition walls 14 is N. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
