<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerization reaction device which can control contamination of a reaction mixture and a methacrylic polymer to be manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The polymerization reaction device for manufacturing a methacrylic polymer includes: a polymerization reaction tank 10 which performs polymerization reaction of a raw material mixture containing a monomer component which makes a methacrylic monomer a principal component; a stirring blade 22 which performs stirring of the raw material mixture in the polymerization reaction tank 10, and is attached at a shaft 20 which can be rotated; and a shaft seal bearing 30 which supports the shaft 20, wherein a shaft seal part 32 of the shaft seal bearing 30 is formed by a mechanical seal using at least one sort chosen from the group consisting of an adipic acid ester, a phthalic acid ester, a diisobutyric acid ester, and acetylated glyceride as a mechanical seal liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
