A composition comprises a homogeneous mixture of a first graft polymer of a linear polybutadiene having a minimum cis isomer content of 30% with a vinyl (including vinylidene) aromatic compound, a polymer or copolymer of a vinyl aromatic compound and a second graft polymer of a non-linear rubbery polymer of a diene hydrocarbon having a high trans isomer content with a vinyl aromatic compound. The first graft polymer is preferably produced from polybutadiene and styrene by the method of Specification 1,030,497, the resulting product consisting of graft polymer particles of size 0.5 to 30 microns dispersed in a polystyrene matrix. The second graft polymer, having a particle size of 0À1 to 0.3 micron, and the vinyl aromatic polymer or copolymer are produced in emulsion, the emulsions being coagulated prior to being blended with the first graft polymer. In the examples, the first polybutadiene-styrene graft polymer is blended with a second polybutadienestyrene graft polymer and either polystyrene or a styrene/alpha-methyl styrene copolymer.
