The device (10) has a displaceable cover (14) covering or uncovering a partially translucent roof portion of a vehicle roof at different positions. The cover is formed as a reelable covering sheet (16) at which a metal band (30) extending in an extension direction (R) is attached. An interior lighting unit i.e. reading lamp, is electrically connected with a power source through the metal band. A side edge of the metal band is embedded in the covering sheet. A reflector i.e. mirror, directly reflects light delivered by the lighting unit into a vehicle interior.
