Self-adhesive protective film comprises a film coated on one side with adhesive of adhesion to steel 0.1-2 N/cm and a protective film of adhesion 2.3-3.6 N/cm, where the adhesive comprises a polymer of at least 2 different alpha -olefins, contains no more than 75 mol.% of any one monomer, has a Mooney viscosity of at least 50 at 125 degrees C and contains a diene.
