PURPOSE: A video encoding apparatus and a method thereof are provided to insert respectively different watermark into a video and to easily extract purchaser information from a video. CONSTITUTION: A watermarking module(100) inserts a watermark into a video. A video encoding unit(110) encodes a video according to insertion of the watermark. A personal information-based video generating unit(120) selects a frame group of the video into which the watermark is inserted. The personal information-based video generating unit generates a personal information-based video.
