Small amounts of 4C-acetylenes are removed from liquid 4-C-hydrocarbon fractions containing 1-3-butadiene by selective hydrogenation in trickling phase in presence of Pd catalyst on carrier containing is not 20 wt. % Li-Al spinel, initially at 15-25 deg.C. and finally at 35-45 deg.C. Better selectivity and lower sensitivity to S than when Al2O3 is used as carrier. Catalyst contains 0.05-2, pref. 0.1-1 wt.% Pd and is not 20, possibly 40 wt.% or more spinel, with BET surface area 10-100, pref. 20-60 m.2/g. and average pore dia. 200-800 A. |
