A refrigerator is provided to perform the optimum non-freezing mode by controlling the operation and the intensity of the refrigerator in the non-freezing mode according to the state of contained foods. A refrigerator(100) includes a non-freezing operation unit and a state checking unit. The non-freezing operation unit performs a non-freezing mode with respect to a storage space or foods contained in the storage space. The state checking unit determines a non-freezing state of the food through a contact scheme or a non-contact scheme. The state checking unit adjusts the operation or the intensity of the non-freezing operation unit according to the check result of the non-freezing state. |
