<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress reduced fluidity of a two-component developer by an accurate cooling operation when the temperature of the two-component developer rises sharply owing to heat generated about a regulation member and stop the cooling operation after the temperature of the two-component developer in a developing tank falls enough, while reducing energy consumption by stopping the operation of a cooling means when cooling is unnecessary. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: a developing part 1 having in the developing tank 2 a developing roller 3 for supplying the two-component developer to a photosensitive drum surface, the regulation member 7 for regulating the amount of the developer carried by the developing roller 3, and a regulation member temperature sensor 10; the means 11 for cooling the developing part 1; and a sensor 8 for the internal temperature of the developing tank 2. Cooling control is performed such that the cooling means 11 is operated when the temperature detected by the regulation member temperature sensor 10 is not lower than a first set temperature and that the cooling means 11 is stopped when the temperature detected by the regulation member temperature sensor 10 is lower than the first set temperature and the temperature detected by the sensor 8 for the internal temperature of the developing tank 2 is lower than a second set temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
