A steam vaporizer 20 includes a water container 22, a cap assembly 24 with a steam outlet aperture 100, and a heating chamber 26 suspended from the cap assembly and containing the heating electrode assembly 28, see also Fig. 3 (not shown), and the heating chamber 26 is characterized by an enlarged upper portion 45 with droplet outlet apertures 41 in its closure wall 43 and a restricted lower portion 47 offset from portion 45 and with inlet openings 42 in its bottom wall 40 for entry of the water from the surrounding container 22. Steam is directed over a well 118 in the cover 84 containing medication for providing steam inhalation therapy. The cap assembly 24, heating chamber 26 and electrode assembly 28 can be removed from container 22 simultaneously. The two electrodes 34, 32, Fig. 3 (not shown), are of carbon and are secured in recesses in the insulating mounting member 30. |
