1,050,746. Jet Pulverizers. MOTALA VERKSTAD A.B. Jan. 20, 1965 [Jan. 21, 1964], No. 2532/65. Heading B2A. [Also in Division E1] Apparatus for disintegrating materials by liquid jets comprises a rotor 61 having radial passages terminating in nozzles which may be directed radially tangentially or, in the embodiment shown, axially, driven by a motor 63. Flow of material to be disintegrated 71 from a container 66 is controlled by a valve 70 and falls into the jet stream at the lower end of a frusto-conical jacket 68. Three nozzles are provided at different distances from the rotor axis and are supplied with water, which may be heated, by a pipe 69 and forms in operation a conical jet field, which is closely surrounded by the jacket 68; material entrained by the jets hits ribs provided on a cylindrical jacket 67. Coarse material continues to the top wall of the main container 64, which has a rounded cavity 72 and falls back into the jet field, fine material passing through the ribs of the jacket 67 for delivery from an exit pipe 65.
|
