The invention relates to a method for regenerating a particle filter (250) situated downstream of a catalyst (240) in a motor vehicle (100; 110). The method comprises the steps of, upstream of the catalyst (240), supplying fuel for combustion and to raise the temperature of the particle filter (250) and of maintaining the raised temperature of the particle filter (250) for a desired period of time. The method incorporates the steps, during towing, which normally involves no supply of fuel, of ensuring that the temperature of the catalyst (240) exceeds its ignition temperature, by supplying fuel for combustion in the engine (340) in order to raise the catalyst's temperature; and of compensating for surplus torque which is due to fuel thus supplied, by generating a torque reduction. The invention relates also to a computer programme product comprising programme code (P) for a computer (300; 310) for implementing a method according to the invention. The invention relates also to a device and a motor vehicle equipped with the device. |
