The method involves inserting an uncoated cover glass (7) into an intermediate ring (6). The intermediate ring and uncoated cover glass are soldered by filling the solder material in the gap provided between the peripheral surface of uncoated cover glass and inner surface of intermediate ring. The anti-reflection coating is provided on cover glass soldered with intermediate ring. The coated cover glass soldered with intermediate ring, is mounted into a sleeve of the optical system of endoscope. An independent claim is included for endoscope.
