<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve high temperature storage characteristics without reducing load characteristics of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery provided with a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte having a nonaqueous solvent and electrolyte salt, the positive electrode active material contains one in which a surface of lithium cobaltate particles added with zirconium and aluminum is covered by AlPO<SB>4</SB>.
