<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-expandable indwelling stent which has sufficient expansion force and excellent follow-up ability to the deformation of a blood vessel. <P>SOLUTION: The indwelling stent 1 is roughly cylindrically and integrally formed by removing parts other than a linear part constituting the stent from a metal pipe capable of being given superelastic characteristics. Then, the stent 1 indicates the superelastic characteristics both before and after insertion into a living body, also each line width of the linear part of the stent 1 is 100 to 170 μm, and the thickness of the linear part is 180 to 230 μm. For the stent, a compression load for compressing the axial direction length of the stent for 20% is 10 to 20 gf.
