OVERHEAD VALVE SYSTEM FOR VARIABLE VALVE TIMING

PURPOSE: An overhead valve device for VVT(Variable Valve timing) is provided to minimize a change of a valve clearance, keep a motion of a valve stable when changing a valve timing. CONSTITUTION: An overhead valve device for VVT(Variable Valve timing) comprises a swim arm assembly(100). The swing arm assembly follows profiles of a cam. The swing arm assembly comprises a housing(110), a roller(120), a compression spring(130) and an actuator. One side of the housing is pivoted on an upper part of a cam and rotated vertically about a hinge shaft(140). The roller is connected to a lower part of a sliding shaft, rotated above and below. The roller contacted on an outer surface of the cam rolls along the profile. The compression spring elastically compresses the roller down toward the cam and elastically compresses the housing up. The actuator rotates the housing about the hinge shaft by controlling the fluid pressure.
