PURPOSE: A remote controller and method thereof are provided to effectively authenticate a user by acquiring the finger print data of the user. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(110) communicates with a display apparatus or an STB(Set Top Box). An input unit(120) creates an input signal corresponding to an external input signal. A touch unit(130) creates a touch signal. A sensor unit(140) scans the finger print of a user for authenticating the user in a specific object purchase. A control unit(160) acquires finger print data from the scanned data.
