PURPOSE: A method for detecting a broadcasting provider and a system thereof are provided to transmit additional information corresponding to each broadcasting provider to a corresponding user terminal. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting service provider determining server(140) generates corresponding watching content information using received nth watching data. The broadcasting service provider determining server detects channel number information in the received nth watching data. The broadcasting service provider determining server generates corresponding broadcasting service provider information. The broadcasting service provider determining server detects additional information from a database unit. The additional information corresponds to the broadcasting service provider information. The broadcasting service provider determining server transmits the detected additional information to a user terminal or a watching data generating device(130).
