PURPOSE: A microalgae-derived HpBkt gene is provided to enhance beta-carotene content 2.5 times and synthesize keto type carotenoids. CONSTITUTION: An isolated gene HpBkt has a base sequence of sequence number 1. The gene is derived from cDNA of microalgae beta-carotene ketolase gene, HpBkt. A binary vector for transforming a plant contains the gene(HpBkt), ibAGP1 promoter, and transit peptide(TP1) of ibAGP1. A method for preparing the transgenic plant comprises: a step of inserting the gene into a plant expression vector controlled by TP1; and a step of introducing the vector to a plant.
