PURPOSE: A photovoltaic device and manufacturing method thereof are provided to use a side protecting unit which protects a second protective layer and a side of a substrate, thereby increasing the durability of the photovoltaic device. CONSTITUTION: A photovoltaic cell(200) converts light into electricity. The photovoltaic cell is formed on a substrate(100). A first protective layer(300) is formed on the photovoltaic cell. A second protective layer(400) is formed on the first protective layer. The second protective layer is made of the same materials as the substrate. A side protecting unit(500) contacts the second protective layer and a side of the substrate. |
