PURPOSE: A header plate for a heat exchanger is provided to simplify a manufacture and to enhance the durability by improving a thickness of a flange unit. CONSTITUTION: A header plate for a heat exchanger comprises a bottom surface(122) and a flange unit(123). The bottom surface comprising a tube receiving hole(121) is formed into a cross-sectional shape of a square. A tube where refrigerant fluid flows is inserted into the tube receiving hole. The flange unit is projected along the outer circumference of the tube to surround in the bottom surface and extended along the tube receiving hole. The flange unit is composed of a long side wall(124) contacted to a long side of the tube and a short side wall(125) contacted to a short side of the tube. A thickness(T2) of the ling side wall is 1.1 to 2.5 times of a thickness(T1) of the short side wall.
