PURPOSE: A water permeable absorbent ceramic purifying block and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the loss of a filtering material and to improve the convenience of installation. CONSTITUTION: A water permeable absorbent ceramic purifying block includes compositions based on 20-40 weight% of blast furnace slag of 8-12 meshes, 20-40 weight% of zeolite of 0.5-3mm, 0.01-0.05 weight% of hydroxyl apatite, 5-20 weight% of activated carbon of 8-30 meshes, 5-20 weight% of anthracite of 1-5mm, 1-5 weight% of loess, 0.01-0.05 weight% of aluminum oxides, and 0.05-5 weight% of illite. The water permeable absorbent ceramic purifying block further includes 0.01-0.05 weight% of zero-valent iron. The compositions are mixed and are compressively molded.
