PURPOSE: A composition containing extract of Japanese Alder or Amur cork tree stem barks is provided to ensure excellent tyrosinase suppression. CONSTITUTION: A composition for skin whitening contains extract of Japanese Alder or Amur cork tree stem barks. The extract is prepared using water, alcohol of C1-C4, or mixture thereof. The extract is prepared by dipping the stem barks in extraction solvent, treating by infrared ray, and reflux. A cosmetic product for skin whitening contains the extract. The cosmetic product is manufactured in the form of a solution, gel, emulsion, suspension, microemulsion, microcapsule, microgranule, cream, skin, lotion, powder, ointment, or spray. A food for enhancing skin whitening contains the extract.
