A panel grinding apparatus is provided to enable a tape transfer unit and a tape pressing unit to be independently separated from each other to accelerate the reciprocating motion speed of a horizontal reciprocating motion of the tape pressing unit, thereby performing the grinding and cleaning of the panel easily. A panel grinding apparatus includes a panel conveyance unit and a pair of upper/lower grinding units(5). The panel conveyance unit conveys a panel(W) continuously in a horizontal direction. The pair of upper/lower grinding units fits both sides of the front and rear surfaces of the panel to a pair of grinding tapes(T) disposed in upper and lower parts of the panel using the panel as a border and grinds or cleans the both sides of the panel. Each of the pair of grinding units is composed of a tape transfer unit(6) and a tape pressing unit(7). The tape transfer unit transfers the grinding tapes to a direction crossing a conveyance direction of the panel. The tape pressing unit presses the middle of the transfer path of the grinding tapes tightly on the panel. The tape transfer unit and the tape pressing unit are independently separated from each other.
