PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to have excellent crystal orientation, to have high light resistance, and to have low decline of voltage conservation rate in spite of light irradiation of high intensity, thereby forming a liquid crystal alignment film with excellent electrical properties. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises polyorganosiloxane having at least one kinds of structure selected from a group consisting of acetalester structure of carboxylic acid, ketal ester structure of carboxylic acid, 1-alkylcycloalkylester structure of carboxylic acid, and thirdly alkylester. The polyorganosiloxane has epoxy structure, and a light-aligning group. The liquid crystal alignment film contains at least one kind of polymer selected from a group consisting of polyamic acid and polyimide.
