PURPOSE: A digital media content playback method shared between home network devices and rendering method thereof are provided to synchronize a media file with a caption file by using synchronization information included in the caption file. CONSTITUTION: In case resource information for a caption file is included in resource information for a media file, a DMC(Digital Media Controller) transmits the resource information of the media file and the caption file to a DMR(Digital Media Renderer) of a playback terminal(S110,S120). The DMR downloads the caption file from the DMS(Digital Media Server) by controlling the DMC(S130). The DMR downloads the media file by controlling the DMC. The DMR streams the selected item in real time(S140).
