The plate has a reactive face (1) for supplying oxidizing gas or fuel gas to an electrode membrane assembly. The face has projecting edges (3) that define respective gas circulating channels (2). Width (O) of each channel at half-height of the corresponding edge ranges from 1 to 1.5 mm, along a plane perpendicular to a plane of the plate and perpendicular to a circulation axis of the channel. Each edge has width (A) ranging from 0.5 to 1 mm at its half-height, along the plane perpendicular to the plane of the plate and perpendicular to the circulation axis of the channel. The plate is made of chemically or mechanically machined and/or molded and/or stamped metal alloy, metal material, or machined and/or molded composite material such as polymer-carbon composite material.
