The invention discloses a thermal overload relay, which comprises a fixed contact; a movable contact configured to be in contact with or separated from the fixed contact; and a fixed contact support part configured to support the fixed contact to be at a preset position. Due to the adoption of the above configuration, the above two contacts are kept at a fitful overtravel during the normal closing operation, while the two contacts are separated from each other during the rapid trip operation.
