PURPOSE: An electric double layer capacitor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a bottom electrode and an upper electrode from being shorted by combining the bottom electrode and the upper electrode with a lower case and a sealing plate, respectively. CONSTITUTION: A lower case(200) is formed into a concave shape of a ceramic material. A bottom electrode(210) and an upper electrode(230) are arranged to be opposite in a lower case. A separator(220) is formed between the upper electrode and the bottom electrode. A sealing plate(240) covers the lower case. A protrusion is formed on an inner bottom of the lower case.
