PURPOSE: An inverter grounding detection system and method are provided to detect grounding with low costs by not using a high-priced current sensor and an image current sensor. CONSTITUTION: An inverter(110) creates output alternating current voltage of 3 by using input alternating current voltage of 3. The inverter comprises a rectifier(111), a surge current prevention part(112), and a smoothing condenser(CAP). A 2-phase current sensor(120) detects 3-phase currents of 2 among 3-phase currents of 3 which are outputted from the inverter. One terminal of a DC shunt resistor(130) for grounding current detection is connected one among the alternating current voltage of 3. A grounding detection switch switches one among the input alternating current voltage of 3 and the other terminal of the DC shunt resistor for the grounding current detection.
