PURPOSE: A diagnostic method of a fuel pressure sensor for a GDI vehicle is provided to detect a malfunction in case that a fuel pressure sensor detects the pressure higher than actual fuel pressure. CONSTITUTION: A diagnostic method of a fuel pressure sensor for a GDI vehicle comprises the next steps. Monitoring time of a fuel pressure sensor is established in the monitoring mode. PI-Control value and a normal fuel pressure value are compared. If the PI-Control value is abnormal compare to the normal fuel pressure sensor, threshold of SUM_MAX value is set or T_SUM_MIN value is set as the threshold If the monitoring time of the fuel pressure sensor is longer than the threshold, T_SUM_MAX value accumulated within the time to monitor the fuel pressure sensor is checked. The T_SUM_MIN value is identified if T_SUM_MIN value accumulated within the time to monitor the fuel pressure sensor is over the threshold or not. If T_SUM MAX value accumulated within the time to monitor the fuel pressure sensor is over the threshold or T_ SUM MIN value accumulated within the time to monitor the fuel pressure sensor is over threshold, a malfunction is determined.
