摘要 PURPOSE: A machinable ceramic complex and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve crystal state and narrow intervals between particles by sintering compound powder of raw materials using a hot pressing process. CONSTITUTION: A machinable ceramic complex comprises zirconia(ZrO2), boron nitride(BN), yttrium oxide(Y2O3), and alumina(Al2O3). The zirconia(ZrO2) and boron nitride(BN) are contained 78-96 weight%. The yttrium oxide (Y2O3) is contained 3-12 weight%, and the alumina(Al2O3) is contained 1-10 weight%. The machinable ceramic complex has a flexural strength of 120-160MPa and a thermal expansion coefficient of 6.0-9.0×10^-6/degree Celsius. A manufacturing method of the machinable ceramic composite comprises next steps: mixing 78-96 weight% of zirconia(ZrO2) powder and boron nitride(BN) powder, 3-12 weight% of yttrium oxide(Y2O3) powder, 1-10 weight% of alumina (Al2O3) powder; charging the compound powder in a mold of a furnace; increasing temperature of the furnace to target sintering temperature which is lower than melting temperature of the zirconia(ZrO2) and boron nitride(BN); sintering and hot pressing the compound powder at the sintering temperature; and obtaining a sinter by cooling the furnace.
