Embodiments of the present invention provide an online charging method, online charging system and a policy and charging rules function, which relate to the communication field. The online charging method includes: obtaining information of a total quota needed by services (S201); judging whether a balance of a user account is enough to complete the services according to the information of the total quota needed by the services and the balance of the user account, and generating the judging result (S202); if the judging result is yes, executing quota management and implementing online charging (S203). The online charging system includes: a first total quota obtaining module, a first judging module and an online charging module. The policy and charging rules function includes: a second total quota obtaining module, a balance obtaining module, a second judging module and a rule processing module. The embodiments of the present invention improve the service experience of users. |
