The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for cabinet combining of a compact base station and remote radio units. The method includes: configuring a first optical interface, which matches an existing second optical interface of a remote radio unit, on a compact base station; and establishing a connection between the compact base station and the remote radio unit via the first optical interface and the second optical interface so that the compact base station employs radio resource of the remote radio unit. The problem of baseband resources waste of a compact base station can be solved by applying the present invention.
