[Also in Division B8] In a method of making a steering wheel, glass fibre filaments are fed from a supply 1, Fig. 1, through a resin-containing bath 5, between squeezing rollers 7 and round a two-part pulley 8, 9 forming a mould. The pulley 8, 9 may be located in an oven to accelerate setting and has internal projections which produce recesses or offset portions 11, Fig. 3, which receive tubular elements 14 which fix the spokes 12 to the rim. The wheel may be padded, e.g. by a plastics foam. |
