The collision detecting device has a chamber element (7), which is arranged in a vehicle. A chamber area is defined in the chamber element, where a communication opening is provided in the chamber element. A pressure sensor (8) is provided to detect a pressure within the chamber area. Another pressure sensor (9) is provided to detect a pressure within the chamber area. A determining unit (11) is provided to determine a collision with a vehicle due to detection signal by the pressure sensor.
