PURPOSE: An up-down hinge apparatus of a portable terminal is provided to perform sliding and up/down movement of a cover about a main body in order to not generate a height difference between a cover and a main body when opening the cover. CONSTITUTION: A second sliding member(20) is connected to a keypad unit of a second body. The second sliding member is combined with a first sliding member. A slide hinge module(30) is combined with the first and second sliding members. The slide hinge module supplies elastic force to the first/second sliding members. An up-down hinge module(40) performs up-down movement of the first body through the second sliding member.
