PURPOSE: An audio jack having an ESD protection function is provided to protect an electronic connector from static electricity by EMI(Electromagnetic Interference). CONSTITUTION: A first jack contact point(20) is connected to a static preventing circuit(34). In case an audio plug is inserted, a second jack contact point(22) is connected to a plug contact point. A mechanical switch(104) is biased in an open position. The mechanical switch is moved to a closed position. The mechanical switch electrically contacts the first jack contact point to the second jack contact point.
