[Problem] To provide a temperature measurement system and a temperature measurement method which enable a temperature distribution in a facility such as a data center to be measured with high accuracy and efficiency. [Solution] To measure the temperature in a rack placed in a first area, an optical fiber (24) is drawn into the first area from a second area so as to lay the optical fiber (24) within the rack, the temperature of the second area being under control. Furthermore, a reference temperature measurement portion is provided in the second area. A temperature measuring device (20) detects a backward scattered beam of light which is produced in the optical fiber (24) and senses the temperature at a plurality of measurement points on the path along which the optical fiber (24) has been laid. A signal processor (28) corrects a signal delivered from the temperature measuring device (20), at the time of which the temperature of a measurement point in the second area among the measurement points is replaced with the temperature of the reference temperature measurement portion.
