PURPOSE: A pilot roll coating apparatus with a pattern printing function is provided to save costs required for manufacturing the apparatus and to simplify the structure of entire facility. CONSTITUTION: A pilot roll coating apparatus with a pattern printing function includes a back-up roll(10), a coating roll(21), a pick-up roll(22), a metering roll(23), a doctor knife(28), a plurality of position adjusting handles(26), a plurality of driving motors, and a pattern roll(24). A specimen(30) for testing is mounted at the back-up roll. The coating roll coats paint or patterning ink on the specimen. The pick-up roll picks-up paint from a storing tank(25) and supplies the paint to the coating roll. The metering roll adjusts the thickness of the paint attached on the pick-up roll and adjusts the amount of the paint at the coating roll. The doctor knife eliminates remaining paint from the metering roll. The position adjusting handles adjusts a gap between the rolls. Patterns are formed on the external surface of the pattern roll. The pattern roll is elevatably installed at the upper side of the coating roll. The pattern roll is engaged with the coating roll and transfers the patterning ink. |
