The present disclosure provides a strip or monofilament of a polyethylene composition that comprises up to 100% by weight of the ethylene-monomer-derived polyethylene composition and less than 20% by weight of the polyethylene composition derived from one or more a-olefinic monomers, in which the polyethylene composition of the strip or monofilament has a density in the range from 0.920 to 0.970 g/cm3, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) in the range from 1.70 to 3.5, a melt flow index (I2) in the range from 0.2 to 50 g/10 minutes, a molecular weight distribution (Mz/Mw) in the range under 2.5, and a vinyl insaturation of less than 0.1 vinyls per 1000 carbon atoms present in the main chain of the polyethylene composition, in which the strip or monofilament has a decitex measurement of more than 500 g/10,000 m.
