<p>A navigation aid system reduces the burden on crews, and reduces the risk of regulatory violations due to human error. The navigation aid system is equipped with a device for detecting environmentally-regulated ocean regions provided with: a movement tracking device that tracks the movement of a ship on the basis of data that has been input; a first computation device that computes the distance and time until an environmentally-regulated ocean region is reached, or the distance and time until leaving from an environmentally-regulated ocean region on the basis of data sent from the movement tracking device, and data related to environmentally-regulated ocean regions stored in a built-in database, or data related to environmentally-regulated ocean regions stored in a database in a separate external device; and a display device that displays the distance and time until an environmentally-regulated ocean region is reached, or the distance and time until leaving from an environmentally-regulated ocean region on the basis of the data sent from the first computation device.</p> |
