The present invention relates to a bipolar triphenylene-based compound and to an organic electroluminescent element comprising the same, and more specifically the bipolar triphenylene-based compound can be used as one or other of an electron-injection layer material, electron-transport layer material, hole-injection layer material, hole-transport layer material and host material so as to improve properties such as the luminous efficiency, luminance, thermal stability, drive voltage and life of the organic electroluminescent element.
