The pallet has a carrier plate (12) including elongated hollow bodies (14) wound of continuous material, glued with each other and arranged in parallel along transverse direction. The hollow bodies form square tubes. Pallet feet are attached to an edge of the carrier plate. The pallet feet are integrally made from material of the carrier plate by folding a predetermined edge portion (20) of the carrier plate at a V-shaped recess running along the transverse direction. The hollow bodies exhibit a rectangular cross section. A cover plate is fastened on the carrier plate. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a pallet from wound cardboard or paper sheets.
