PURPOSE: An electrophoretic display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce manufacturing costs by eliminating an adhesive layer or a protective film. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor is formed on a first substrate(120). A protective layer(124) is formed on the first substrate. A partition wall(180) is formed on a non image display unit of the protective layer using a photo mask. A pixel electrode(118) is formed using the photo mask. An electrophoretic layer(160) is formed. A sealing layer(168) is formed on the electrophoretic layer and the partition wall. A common electrode(142) is formed on a second substrate.
