The objective of the present invention is to provide an electronic-parts mounting apparatus and a method of executing electronic-parts mounting work, wherein quality of work and productivity can be made to be compatible. Height-precision classification information, which classifies height precision necessary for vertical motions by working heads into a first classification wherein normal precision is required and a second classification wherein high height-precision is required, according to the type of electronic part, is stored in advance as working data. During work executing processes, working heads are vertically moved on the basis of an approximate working position height to be derived from an approximate curved surface calculated using height measurement results of measurement conducted at a plurality of height measurement points on the upper face of a substrate, for first-classification electronic parts, and working heads are vertically moved on the basis of individual working position heights obtained by measuring the substrate height at each of the working positions individually, for second-classification electronic parts.
