The method involves covering a part of an overall length of elongated components (10) by a spray cabin that is moved relative to the components. A coating is applied on the components within the spray cabin that is partially operated with a re-circulating air operation. The components are dehumidified after applying the coating using an infrared radiation and an infrared dehumidifier, and cleaned using cleaning unit that precedes the spray cabin. The infrared dehumidifier is switched on after passing through the spray cabin. An independent claim is also included for a device for coating and/or spray painting elongated components, comprising a spray cabin.
