PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display apparatus for a double-sided display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by operating a partitioned screen. CONSTITUTION: A display part comprises first and second liquid crystal panels(110,120). The first and second liquid crystal panels comprise first and second display areas. The display part respectively displays images on the first and second display areas. A timing controller creates a gate control signal and a data control signal. The timing controller includes a dimming operation part. The dimming operation part creates dimming values. A backlight driving part creates a backlight control signal. A light source(172) is turned on/off according to the backlight control signal. |
