PURPOSE: A character input apparatus and a method thereof are provided to efficiently display a character key having a keyboard function on a touch screen and to easily correct a wrongly inputted character. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(110) senses a press event about an error correction key on a touch screen keyboard of a small electronic device. A display controlling unit(140) displays a character, which is allocated to a key of the sensing unit, on a screen. A controlling unit(160) cancels the display of a character which is allocated to the specific character key. The controlling unit displays respectively different key on the screen.
